Tide Control
Land Lock Combo
Overview
"Tide Control is a mono-blue combo-control deck that turns a permission shell into a hard land-denial lock. Force Spike, Mana Leak, and Counterspell buy time while Impulse and Accumulated Knowledge dig for the pieces; then Parallax Tide exiles the opponent's lands a wave at a time, Stifle answers the trigger that would hand them back, and Chain of Vapor recasts Tide to reset its fade counters until the opponent simply can't cast spells anymore. With the mana base dismantled, the manlands Mishra's Factory and Faerie Conclave close the game without ever committing a real creature to removal."
Game Plan
Tide Control is a mono-blue combo-control deck whose entire strategic identity flows from one four-mana enchantment. The early game is spent building a permission wall. Force Spike and Mana Leak tax the opponent on turns one and two, Counterspell holds the line at full power, and Impulse and Accumulated Knowledge weave the missing pieces together. Powder Keg handles cheap permanents on a slow schedule, buying the time needed to untap with mana open. The payoff arrives when Parallax Tide resolves: its fade counters exile the opponent's lands one at a time, and Stifle counters the triggered ability that would return those lands if Parallax Tide leaves play. Chain of Vapor bounces Parallax Tide back to hand before the counters run dry, resetting it to a fresh five, so each new cast exiles another wave of lands until the opponent can no longer cast spells.
Once the lock is established, the deck closes through its creature-lands. Mishra's Factory and Faerie Conclave survive the Powder Keg sweepers that clear opposing threats, animate without any spell investment, and need no extra mana to represent a clock. Fact or Fiction refuels the hand after the combo turn and ensures there is always countermagic to protect the next Chain of Vapor. Quicksand and Dust Bowl handle opposing man-lands and utility lands that might otherwise escape the loop. Against any opponent who resolves threats before the lock arrives, Powder Keg clears the board on a schedule, and the deck cycles through its draw suite until a fresh Parallax Tide finds an opening.
